Which cookies this site uses

None for analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking. The site is served as static pages and loads no third-party scripts, so no persistent identifier is attached to your visit.

We also use no equivalent techniques for the same tracking purpose: no persistent local storage, no browser fingerprinting, no embedded tracking pixels.

Why there is no consent banner

Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, the ePrivacy Directive, requires informed consent before storing or accessing information on a user's device, except where that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has expressly requested.

Since no cookie subject to consent is set, there is nothing to ask consent for, and European data protection guidance requires no consent mechanism in that case. Showing a banner here would mean requesting permission for something that does not happen.

What the server records

The hosting provider records, for technical, security and diagnostic purposes, the IP address, the timestamp, the path requested and the user agent of each request. These records are not combined with any other source to identify the visitor, and they are never used for advertising.

They are retained for a short period set by the hosting provider and limited to what is necessary to detect security incidents. The processing relies on the legitimate interest in ensuring network and information security, as recognised in recital 49 GDPR.

If this changes

If any cookie or tracking technology that is not strictly necessary is ever introduced, a consent mechanism meeting article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive will be in place beforehand, with refusing as easy as accepting, and this page will be updated before the first such cookie is set.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Independently of the above, every browser lets you block or delete stored cookies from its privacy settings. Blocking cookies does not affect browsing this site, precisely because the site does not depend on any.
